Rejuvenation of water storage structures

Silt removal is being carried out in Vajarahalli village to increase the water storage capacity of the tank. This process involves removing the accumulated silt from the tank, which has been causing a reduction in its storage capacity over time. By removing the silt, more water can be stored in the tank, ensuring a steady and reliable water supply for the village. Additionally, the silt that is being removed is being applied to farmer lands in order to enhance soil fertility. Silt is rich in nutrients and organic matter, and by spreading it on the fields, farmers can improve the quality of their soil, leading to better crop yields. This initiative with the support of IIT-IIT aims to address both the water storage needs of the village and the agricultural requirements of the farmers, promoting sustainable development in the region.
